I wasn't aware there were PPC versions of linux. Are they stable? I think it has about 1.1GB - 1.25GB of PC-133 now, and it only has IDE unfortunately, so no go on the SSD.
You mean an "Apple user?" I think I'll try the Linux route. This thing is so old it's very low on my priorities list.
I have a G4 MDD with dual 1 ghz and 2gb DDR. This is bit faster but can only go up to 10.5 Leopard (your G4 933 can, too) One big drawback is that you can't update Flash 10 (if I remember correctly) on it. Beyond that requires an INTEL PROCESSOR! That sucks. So it's gathering dust among other PCs I've built over the years. UPDATE: After 2 or 3 years of dust on G4 MDD I decided to get it up and running. I discovered that it's NOT worth using it on internet since NONE of different browsers are able to update - ALL of them are from 6 years ago and older which are able to run on 10.5. Go to oldapps.com and try to find the latest browsers for 10.5 - you'll see what I mean. Surfing the net is bit slow (even on cable!), torturing the old browsers. Back to gathering the dust once again.
Mac Mini G4 - Leopard Want to use as a webradio and vnc to it. Cannot load webpages to play radio as of yet.
I believe KingSpec makes IDE SSDs. There are also other options, such as a SATA to IDE adapter and a IDE to compact flash. An "Apple" drive is nothing but an ordinary HD w/ a label.
Heh, I keep an old eMac around to use as a space heater when it's cold in my office, and I guess I could remove the logo from the front of it and attach it to my hackintosh PC in case I want to comply with the MacOS terms of use where it says to be used only on Apple-branded hardware.
