    Hi All!

    How are you?
I am thinking in purchasing MacBook Pro, as I liked its features.

    But I have two questions:
1- Does Apple Systems Have Blu-Ray?
2- For those who have run the Mac deep enough, is MacBook Pro worth being purchased in spite of its too much price? I mean, there are other laptops like Toshiba Qosmio that have more advanced specs and yet cheaper, so what makes MacBook Pro better than other Windows-Based Systems?

    Thank you very much.

    - Macbook pro doesnt support blueray media yet, wait for refresh.
    - Macbook pro is high level super designed unibody aluminium laptop, toshiba (imho all brands) is a ugly plastic piece of crap.

Im going for MacBook Pro definately.

Thank you very much for the reply.

I really agree with you, as I tried the MacBook Pro myself in an official Apple Reseller and was amazing!
Actually, to a moment, I thought that I should have MacBook Pro. I loved the TrackPad very much!

Blu-ray is not a big problem to me, but if we look at other features that Apple provide in MacBook Pro, you will definitely choose it.

I think only the 17 inch macbook pro might be able to handle the graphics and resolution of blu-ray. It is insanely expensive, and adding an external blu ray drive on top of it is way to expensive.

Ahhh blu-ray lol well time to dig in....
You don't need to have a blu-ray drive to play blu-ray's in order to do so legally you need a blu-ray burner with either handbreak or anydvd make an iso.
Daemon tools as the imaging software to mount the iso and a copy of Cyber link Power DVD to play the iso. This works on just about anything hell you don't even need a expensive video card to pull it off. The only trick to it is having about 50 GB of extra hard drive space per movie...I might not be a apple fan boy but the mac book pro's do look nice...

    mac pro

i also love the way the macs look, i just wish they left the apple off of the middle of the lid... good luck with that happening, right... if i were to buy a laptop i'd buy a mac and install windows 7 on it, but that's me...

does anyone know if there is a blu-ray/dvd/cd drive that will fit in the superdrive [or whatever the dvd drive is called] space... i would love to have a mac pro with win 7 installed with blu-ray :worthy:

Well I know that the current line up of laptop vendors dig blu-ray (ie hp, dell, etc) maybe if you took the blu-ray drive from one of those and ordered a replacement drive you could put it into a MAC and spray paint it white so as it blended right in. That should do the trick and all you'd have to find is the drivers for it....These driver should have the same SATA 3Gb connector cause its standard for everyone...

Well I feel like blasting a spammer today there are better tools than this crud/crap its called AnyDVD HD or Handbrake...
Also as I don't have 2k just lying around I won't be able to test this but I can say that your going to have to get the drivers for the blu-ray drive...
Or your going to have to bootcamp the Windows platform or your going to have to Virtualize the Windows platform...
I think what will happen is that OSX will pick it up but it will think that its just a DVD drive but thats just me...

Now more and more blu ray products, many product families have blu ray, blu ray discs, games, etc.
These products do much better than the DVD's.

Blu-ray actually doesn't have anything to do with it, it's just an optical storage medium... you are referring to better graphics and more storage, both have been around for a very long time, but consumers just didn't know about it :)
