    hello

Is there any way to make a button on the taskbar to run metro menu?
I don't need an old style menu, but I need a button to enter it.

Hello, can you please clarify ? I don't fully realize what you're asking.

He wants the good old start button back....to point on / start the metro menu.

Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...

Read the FAQ. You will find what you want.

You're FAQ. says "Q: Is there any way to use classic start menu on windows 8? but that's not what he's asking & read what "Yen" said.

if you just want to avoid using the keyboard for that, you only need to move your mouse to the bottom left corner of the screen, a "metro" button will appear

I think he knows this already and just wants a short-cut that can be placed on the task bar.

    You can try the start.exe
    rocketdock.com/addon/docklets/18320
    works fine here.

It's not the old start menu. The start.exe opens the new (metro) menu.
