    Hi.
I would like to know if it was possible to make a multi-language RTM DVD by using the localized ISOs that were released the 14/08/09, and not by using the LP packs released in july?

I would like to make a DVD that contains, the english, the french and the japanese language with or without boot menu selection (because all language would be installed anyway).

So if it is possible could someone tell me how to?

    Thanks a lot.

I dont think its possible that way, because an localized ISO has only one Language installed. So the install.wim with the images contains only French or only Japanese.

    Well I did that already.
but I'm not satisfied with that, LP packs are only partial translation, they're still things missing.
    That's why I'm asking.

Helps for example, that aren't all translated.
    Advanced IME support.

Well I'm asking that because official MUI packs won't appear soon.
If they would be here, I could use them for that.

Hu? Did I miss something ? Windows 7 Language Pack different from MUI pack? What are the differences?

Does MUI Pack translate everything ?

Yes, they're also 3 times bigger than LP packs.

Still this discussion? Thats not true! The Languagepacks from the ISO are the same as the Windowsupdate files.

Dont you remember the RC1? There were all Languagepacks available for download via Windowsupdate, and the german one had only about 100MB, just like the ones from the ISO.

I also have Windows Vista SP2, and i have the 6002.18005.090410-1830_amd64fre_Client_LP_1-FRTMCxLP1_DVD.iso Languagepack ISO, and of course the German Languagepack there is 275MB, so much bigger than the Windows 7 Languagepack, but thats because of the many Video Help (WMV) files in there. They are also in the Retail ISO 6002.18005.090410-1830_amd64fre_Client_de-de-FRTMCXFRE_DE_DVD.iso included.

But there are no such Videos in Windows 7!! Neither in the English ISO, nor in the Localized ISOs.

    What is "advanced IME support"?

As i wrote i dont think that you can use localized ISOs to make one multilanguage ISO.
Or it would be more work than integrating the Languagepacks.

But of course Localized ISO is more localized than using the MUI, because for example the Recovery environment will not be localized.

I just tried to boot in repair mode, and it's not localized in French but in English only. I slipstreamed French LP on an English ISO. Maybe it will be in French with French localized ISO.
