After a day-long-life Windows 10 build 9926 I choose to install Linux Manjaro with Plasma 5... Even is just a early Beta release (like Windows 10 TP) is awesome superior to it.I highly tested this build and seems to be enough stable....
KDE 5 is the future1 MS never will learn from/that! After I downloaded W10 TP (last build) I deleted it and installed 0.9.0 and this is wonderful1I waiting, like you the final version but until then I have the freedom to use it in my 1-st machine as a main OS!
Arch based linux distro's are the best, always up to date and running very smooth. I used many debian based distro's and all had the same issues. Freezing, slowing down etc. I tried arch a few weeks ago and it was running great, no issues.
Do not worry;is freezing here, too, enough but I like too much this version so I can handle it! Some issues with window decorations and with wi-fi Internet connections but...::::::
Me the same thing. lol When I shut down my Kubuntu, the PC freezes. But with Gentoo, Arch (manjaro) or Fedora do not. The Ubuntu family sins accordingly
I haven't tried Arch or Manjaro, and prob wont. Not that I'm trying to hate or anything, but they are implementing a certain init that doesn't agree with me. I'm running Slackware-current/KDE 4.10.5, and can't wait till Bob finishes building KDE 5 for us!
As long the system runs stable i dont care. People also wine about the systemd stuff, i don't care either. As long it is stable and not freezing Arch based (or arch it self) it will be my replacing os for windows. Ubuntu based distro's are all running crap for me except the highly stripped version "elemantary os"
I agree, what works for you, works for you. Once Debian forced unmentioned init as default, my system was very unstable. I even had to reboot 5+ times just to login. So I got fed up and switched to Slackware. I have to say, I am very impressed with Slack, and haven't had ANY issues since I did switch. I have even made a custom installation DVD/USB where I trimmed it down to 850MB iso and 5.5GB installed. Including KDE, LibreOffice, VLC and a bunch more custom apps. I am still running 2 Windows 7 PCs, and once Win7 turns EOL they will be switched to something Linux or BSD. All hail BOB! KDE 5 released (unofficially) for Slackware!!!!!!! Unfortunately it wont be released for main release for at least a year, I am running -current so I am testing (installing) on another PC right now!
Is it just me, or did KDE just beat MS to Windows 10? I don't mean that in a bad way, it just looks like what Win10 it trying to achieve. This is on Slackware -current. If you couldn't tell from the running console.
Will give manjaro a go again, can't really let go linux for some reason after some tests last year with some distro's
