Maxtor 500 gb drive showing only 476gb

    I've got a brand new Maxtor 500gb hard drive and when installing windows 7 on it, it shows only 476gb available. Why would this be? School me.

    That's because the 476 GB is the actual GiB! I dunno why yours is higher than mine, LOL. My Barracuda 500 GBs are 465 GiB.
    They're a Seagate with the Maxtor name slapped on them!
