    There's now 1 Samsung 4GB 1333MHs SO-DIMM in my notebook with 9.0 - 9 - 9 - 24 timings and 1.5V.
The Corsair CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9 has exactly the same specs.
So is the corsair compatible and will it run in dualchannel if I place it next to the samsung?

Should I ask asus (notebook manufacturer) first or is it sure to be compatible if the specs match?

    Thanks

PS: whoever corrected the space in the title: you're damn fast :) faster than me

I'll check if the corsair has the same amount and sizes of chips, and if so I'll make the bet.
I can't find the original modules anywhere so it's the only choice left I guess.

If everything is the same then the only thing the bios could complain about is the manufacturer and model string which are hardcoded into the memory, and that's kind of stupid as it's just being annoying and has nothing to do with compatibility.

It would most likely work on desktop but on laptop might be hit or miss.

Just in case it doesn't work: is it possible to mod an UEFI rom to force dual channel? I mean to bypass all the checks and goes to dualchannel whenever there are 2 modules installed.
Of course you have to watch out then that the secs of the modules match, but that's own responsibility.

EDIT: Perfect, 8GB in dualchannel: check!
Windows Experience Index of RAM went from 5.9 to 7.7 (WDP) :D
