Hi, Why 7.9 is the highest score possible for Windows Experience Index? Why not 4.2 or 185.3 or (3.14^2)/Sqr(2) or more simply 10? Any idea? PS: Pehaps M$ engineers have only eight fingers....
7 times 9 equals 63. 6 plus 3 equals 9. 9 is 1 plus 8, meaning 18. So its a hidden 18, three sixes. Thats what i would think. So 7.9 hides a hidden 18, 3 sixes, you know what i mean, lol. Some of you may think its bunk, but ms like most big companies play around with these numbers. Things hidden in plain site, lol.
Maybe since it is Win 7 so they maxed out at 7.9 then when they release Win 8 they maxed out at 8.9.. and so on...
The designers probably took bets on how many forum threads they could spark by setting it at 7.9 instead of something more logical.
Actually vista had maximum 5.9 and with modding the maximum was 9.9 if i remember correctly Win7 has maximum 7.9 and with modding its possible to get 11 in screenshots
Just for fun: It remind me of a mathematical question that was posed to me once that I have yet find and answer for: 3 men go into a hotel to rent a room for one night. The room cost $30.00 per night. So, they split the bill which costs them $10.00 each. They go up to their room and they all agree the room is not worth $30.00 so one of them call the manager and complain about the condition of the room noting it is not worth $30.00. The manager agrees and tells them he will send the bellboy up there with a partial refund. The manager gives the bellboy $5.00 and tells him to take it to the 3 men. The bellboy, on his way to the room, wonders how he is going to split $5.00 amongst 3 people. So the bellboy decides he is going to pocket $2.00 and just give them $1.00 a piece. After receiving the $1.00 refund per person, the 3 men are somewhat satisfied as they only paid $9.00 a piece for the room. BUT WAIT: If each person only paid $9.00, that equals $27.00. Then add the $2.00 the bellboy kept and that totals $29.00. They initially paid $30.00, what happened to the missing $1.00???????
Actually the guys were to pay $25 but after the bellboy decided to take "his share" of the returned $5, the actual payment ended up being $28. So 28 + 2= 30. No missing dollar
the men only paid $25 for the room ($30 - $5 refund), so the ended up paying the bell boys tip between them ($2)
But then IF he returned 1 dollar to each of the 3 men (3 dollars), then : 3x10 - 3x1 = 27 +2 in the bellboys pocket = 29 Hah... it seems I need a coffee break
