    Hi!
I upgraded to Windows8 Prof (RTM) from Windows7 Prof.
On my Laptop everything is working finde but on my Desktop Machine I have problems with the Metro Apps.
If I click on a Metro App it does show the Splash Screen and then the App exits without a warning or something like that.
I already googled and found out it seems to be a problem with DCOM.
I already tried to the delete the "Ole" registry keys but this didnt help.
In the event log I have the following error:
"Der Server "Microsoft.WindowsLive.People.wwa" konnte innerhalb des angegebenen Zeitabschnitts mit DCOM nicht registriert werden."
It means that the Server couldnt register with DCOM.
The google search didnt really help so you are my last hope not to reinstall Windows8.
    Thanks in advance.

    Regards

    Thanks for your answer!
    Yes I already tried that.
It was a problem with the RuntimeBroker, there was also an error in the event log.
I did fix it and now it doesnt appear in the event log anymore.
But I am still having the issue, that the apps dont start properly and I get an error in the event log.
    Strange problem...

Yes I did fix it using dcomcnfg.
I granted SYSTEM all permissions which I can do.
Like I said before its strange that I dont get the error in the event log anymore about RuntimeBroker.

SYSTEM has full control for RuntimeBroker.
And how do I know which part needs more permissions?
Because I dont have any info in the event log, so I dont know what I have to check.
Sry if I am a bit dumb but I am a bit helpless...

Yes this registry fix I tried. I did a restart of the system.
    Nothing changed.
    UAC is enabled.
In registry the key [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Polices] EnableLua is "1".
I am using an PowerUser Account if this is important.
