I'm adding a 2.2 slic to HP's Microserver N36L/N40L bios using AMITool. I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that the method to add the slic was to choose SSV2 and select in Advanced: Only alter RSDT and XSDT tables Ignore checksum and module 80h warnings I've done this but I'm still getting "Boot block checksum not valid" messages when I press Go in AMITool. I'm a bit worried I may end up with a bios that will brick my board. Can anyone confirm I'm doing it right and it's safe to ignore the messages. Thanks.
Hi Serg, Any chance you could further update this BIOS to include the Fujitsu 2.3 SLIC? Sorry - the system wouldn't let me quote the link you gave, as I don't have the pre-requisite 20 posts so I've changed http to hxxp!
OK Thanks Sebus, I'll have to do some reading up before I test it then, so it will probably be over the holidays.
hi did this work? if so, please let the community know. i'm looking for a 2.2 slic version (for non R2). Is their one available?
Of course. These are instructions from master Serg008 for Andy's tool Slic 2.x - HP proliant server Vendor: MSI 1-st pass: Dynamic + tick "ignore checksum" in Advanced 2-nd pass: Open O41011711_SLIC.ROM (from 1-st pass). Press "Cancel" on pop-up window, then choose MSI as vendor, xxxxxxxxxxx.BIN as Slic 2.x, select SSv2 and tick "Only alter RSDT and XSDT tabl" in Advanced That's all .
Just trying to do this with the latest bios (O41100113.ROM). In Step 1: When opening O41100113.ROM you get the pop up - do you select Yes (for allow modification)? Does it matter what Manufacturer you select Do you add the new SLIC in this step (as well as in Step 2) or only add an SLP? In Step 2: I always get "boot block is invalid" - should I also have ticked "Ignore checksum and module 80h warnings" in Advanced? Sorry for the questions but I've been trying most options and still can't get it to work
