I think the 2.5 million limit was a PR plan. What better way to generate excitement than put a limit on something. Then they talk about needing more servers, blah blah blah yada yada yada - part B of the plan. Now anybody who wants the Win 7 beta will end up with it, their original goal - IMO. The more people that have the beta, the more chances to sell the RTM. I think they learned a lot from the Vista betas/releases and made sure Win 7 was ready to go when it hit the 1st beta - 6801 build was pretty solid.

agreed. Windows 7 is by far and wide the best OS from MS I have used to date. It takes all the speed of XP, and the usability of Vista along with the other Windows 6 kernel upgrades and combines them into a great OS. Very easy to use with a slight learning curve if you have not used Vista yet. Who knows maybe even ZDNet will get off their apple high horse and write a good review. I want to see Apple's commercials trying to discredit 7...
