Microsoft Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset provides a collection of tools that help IT teams make PCs safer to use, keeps employees productive, and enables desktops that are easier and less expensive to manage. Administrators can easily recover PCs that have become unusable, rapidly diagnose probable causes of issues, and quickly repair unbootable or locked-out systems, all faster than the average time it takes to reimage the machine. When necessary, administrators can also quickly restore critical lost files. DaRT 7.0 for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2: LINKS removed! Check post #14
They work for me, although the first time the download button is clicked nothing happens. I had to use the 'retry' button and then they downloaded (IE9).
I made a rar with folders that you can copy directly into boot.wim index:2 so that your win7/2008r2/2011MP setup will have the DaRT7 options in the recovery menu of setup. *Edit, file updated search for v3 Instructions: Mount the boot.wim index 2 with dism and copy over the contents of the appropriate folder Looks something like this: Code: dism /mount-wim /wimfile:c:\win7dvd\sources\boot.wim /index:2 /mountdir:c:\mount xcopy c:\MSDaRT70-boot-x64\* c:\mount\ /cherkyi dism /unmount-wim /mountdir:c:\mount /commit imagex /compress maximum /export c:\win7dvd\sources\boot.wim * %TEMP%\boot.wim move /y %TEMP%\boot.wim c:\win7dvd\sources\ You don't need to re-compress with imagex but it will shave a few kb off the boot.wim It integrates into setup so that when you click the "Repair this computer" link then the "Troubleshoot" option, the next menu will have the Diagnostic and Recovery Toolset option. Once inside you have all the tools available: Offline SFC SCAN, offline standalone system sweeper, registry editor, offline hotfix remover, etc. The non-dart stuff is still the same: system backup restore, system recovery point restore, startup repair, etc.. Edit: v2'd the version to match the changes I made in the 8.1 dart direct copy version... Added winre direct copy folders (winre.wim just has one index)
Just grabbed it too.. coincidental that after a year of the previous update that two people need it a day after the other. Also frustrating that as a Microsoft Partner, my company can't get this software without a volume license agreement despite the fact that we sell and support piles of OEM licenses. Microsoft does everything they can to make their supporters hate them...
