    For me it is JDownloader it is free and really does the job :D

    Microsoft Download Manager is really not up to it.
    Even FTM does really work only for technet/msdn.
    For MDM, can someone tell me how do I download windows 8 dev preview. Pasting the link gives error and reconnect and error and so on.

    For me it is IDM it is good! and really does the job ;)

    I use IDM as well for several reasons:
    • fast downloads mutlipel downloads
    • downloads of movies directly
    • and more!

    For FTP i use 3DFtp which also has an build in accelerator and is also faster than any other! Also Payware, worth the money!
