Still curious if anyone that's using the Your Phone/Continue on PC functionality can confirm it's working with the new Edge Chrome (you need Edge because the links you send from Android do not open on the default browser, but only in Edge). Last time I tried Edge Chromium it broke this functionality, and uninstalling it/reverting to old Edge still didn't fully fix it, it took a full OS reinstall.
I installed this from their Blog but it also installed Office Apps that I do not need or want. When I removed the apps that process removed EDGE. MS The Bloatware King!
So I installed it on Windows Server 2019. Unlike the BETA-channel I cannot login with a private Microsoft on the Stable version? It only let's me use a Office 365 / Azure account which doesn't support any kind of synchronisation so it's pretty useless. And when can we expect to have basic stuff like synchronisation of history implemented? Other than the lack of expected synchronisation features and not being able to use a Microsoft Account for synchronisation at all on Windows Server 2019 I do like it. Have to grab all my extensions from the Chrome Web Store as the Microsoft Store barely has any extensions and many of those who are there are outdated version for EdgeHTML and not Edge Chromium.
Is it final or not? My old beta has upgraded to 79.0.309.65 but still beta icon on help and feedback -> about
the online installer yes, but no idea about where are the real links of offline installers for stable non enterprise version.
OK I tested it first in a VM and then on the main PC and it works properly now, so Microsoft fixed the issues. This is great news. I think I'll give the new Edge a month as my main browser and see if it's better or similar to Vivaldi, and maybe switch completely if it works well. I am somewhat concerned about having all the browser data synced to Microsoft which I trust less than Vivaldi, but at the same time, they know anyway, so it's whatever. Edit: nope, not yet, there doesn't seem to be tab stacking in this, and sync is still incomplete. There no proper start page with a Speed Dial either. Back to Vivaldi.
