    (OP)
This is the latest (final) version 4.1.522.0

But does Defender has NIS (Network Inspection System), Tray Icon and Context Menu?
MSE offers newer versions of Antivirus Definition, my current version is 1.139.2168.0 (MSE), check yours...

LOL, Microsoft simply block the MSE installer... that's all. Yehaaa... after installing it will damage your brain ;)

"According to Wikipedia, Microsoft Security Essentials does not run on Windows 8, which has an antimalware subsystem of its own. Guess what, they’re wrong!" ...... IS ACCORDING TO MICROSOFT ! "You can't use Microsoft Security Essentials with Windows 8, but you don't need to — Windows Defender is already included and ready to go" So don`t fu*k your windows 8 with this and leave it with defender.

100% right if MSE was good for Win 8 then they would offer it to you
Why risk Scr**wing you system when practically the same AV is provided for free by MS cant see the point of it my self

    Just my 2 cents

MSSE only offers basic protection anyway, it's not worth quibbling over! It's not the most secure AV out there.
