@Ramiro Pistoia: latest MSE installer for Win7 is 4.10.209 or 4.10.0209.0

Microsoft Security Essentials 4.10.209.0 is the last version that Microsoft released for this antivirus app.
However, Microsoft will supposedly continue to provide definition updates for it until 2023.
    I use it in Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit (has post-January 2020 ESU updates) because it's light-weight and very user-friendly.
    :)

Hello. I'm on Win7 Professional SP1 32bit and until now I've only ever used the preinstalled Windows Defender to scan my laptop. What's the difference between it and MSE? I know MSE has real-time protection, but if I disable it and use it to only perform scans manually, would it differ much from Windows Defender?
    Thanks in advance.

Windows defender works only as antispyware on win7 so it won't give a protection against virus, malware etc... so disable it and install MSE ar another AV for full protection even if no AV can guarantee you 100% protection.
Running windows defender and MSE at the same time is not advisable as it can cause performane degradation.

Well, Windows Defender got automatically disabled after I installed MSE...
I have limited resources on this laptop and MSE seems kinda heavy, especially after booting/restarting.
    Thanks for your answer.
