Ok I was doing my net book and wanted to try windows 7 home starter on a partition I made. I downloaded the x86 version of win7 from the repository but I used the Microsoft USB boot tool and it installed the ultimate version. I thought maybe the Daz Loader would let me choose what version to activate. But no it didn't work that way. Can I downgrade this in place?

So an inplace downgrade is not doable? I really didn't want to reinstall.

No, you must reinstall, no downgrade

For delete/rename ei.cfg use software like Ultraiso

As shenj said download the ei.cfg removal tool it will take only a sec to patch the iso.
After you do that you can use all versions of windows.
When you do that, then when you reinstall or format,it asks you which version you want

Gottcha, I'll read the .iso with Slysoft's virtual drive and copy files to another folder, remove ei.cfg file. Then I will use ImgBurn to turn it back into an .iso file. Then I'm good to go.
