I have 8.1.1 on C:\, which I can upgrade to 10 RTM if I choose to do so - OR - do a clean install with the 10 RTM I have 9879 on D:\, which I can upgrade to 10 RTM if allowable - OR - do a clean install Always keep an image or two of the original OS before playing with beta upgrades - Acronis Ture Image is my best friend. Back up your backups with backups...
even if MS does this, and its possible. I wouldn't, its a horrid idea. 1000000000000000000000000000000 posts later why isn't my windows 10 rtm working right! ugh ugh fug fug
New OS, new install, best IMO. I like the idea of having the choice though. Just cuz I could, don't mean I should.
This had been MS's plan quite some time ago, at least this was their intention when I joined the program to start with win7 and go all the way to win10RTM(at that time it was win9).
LOL, too early to worry about that, wait until WDP(or month-TP, or RC2, whatever MS would call it) when the new activation system starts to show.
Together with the new title, now no-one can complain, or he/she is blind . You should adapt your sig, i guess .
But based on Microsoft's public promises earlier in the year to bring a start menu to Windows 8, and the fact that what seems to have happened is the Win10 Tech preview (with start menu), instead (of 8.2), I can't see how Microsoft might escape having to offer Win10 to 8.1 customers gratis. I suppose the company could always go back to 8.1 after Win10 ships and throw in a start menu, but that would be supremely counterproductive...as I'm fairly certain Microsoft wants to move everybody to Win10 ASAP.
If you upgrade from win10 TP to RTM, the keylogger will follow on to your RTM upgrade. So I'd highly avoid that and just do a clean reinstall with the RTM disc.
