Is it possible? I have one Dell 730x main board (MSI-7543), but the BIOS is unsupported for newest CPU like i7 980X. Just downloaded other X58 MB BIOS from MSI with i7 980X support. If I get the new microcode from the newer MB BIOS and replace only the newer cpu microcode to the older MB BIOS, the board would be working?! OR not so easy, still have to change BIOS code? any help?
If this Ami bios amitool can do it but have a recover disc just in case you brick it also make sure that the bios you get it from has the same hardware that your do
