Anybody know of an easy way to migrate user profiles. I want to transfer profiles into new domain active directory profiles on a workstation running windows 7.

I tried a couple of time using what instructions Microsoft had to offer. For me, it's just far simpler to recreate them from scratch. But, to each his own.

profiles are just folders, so you can just copy them, then modify the "base" folder to point to it in the accounts properties

it should work that way, but if it gives errors, try with a computer member of the domain to log at least once with every account you want to copy
then on same computer, you log as local administrator, you go on advanced system properties, then in "profile users" you select evey account you want to copy (they should appear as roaming profiles) then you click on "copy to" then you choose a destination folder (local or not), you can give permission to the new domain user
then modify the "base" folder to point to it in the accounts properties
