I have searched the internet but unless some guru here can tell why this appears to be a common thing with Win 10 Pro there must be something in the registry to edit and make appear on taskbar. I now find it appears randomly but when clicking on safely remove it disappears with no confirmation! I have searched this board but either my words are too long or short... ;( If anybody can help this old man it would be appreciated.

[off topic] What is with this board constantly kicking me out just to sign in again. If I go to another forum I'm not logged in. If I look at my preferences I'm booted out again. :( Sorry for putting this in this directory for Win 10 but I'm very frustrated regarding this issue.
    cheers

Unfortunately, this story is very general, but everything indicates that Windows is damaged for some reason, and in such an error there is no other solution or fix than a Windows reset or a fresh clean installation. That's why You can't find anything from internet.
Usually, such problems occur when Windows is not maintained, i.e. not cleaned, or when malicious software is used.
If you give a more detailed overview, which version of Windows is installed, how long has it been in this computer (ie when it was installed and how - was then done clean installation or updated some older version), which computer you have and which programs you use, maybe something can be guessed better, but for now the preliminary diagnosis remains.

@kaljukass I appreciate your response and I was quite aware that there was nothing out on the internet, since this is another MicroShaft's wonderful Windows 10. Here is your answer to those questions:

    Edition Windows 10 Pro
    Version 21H2
    Installed on ‎6/‎26/‎2022
    OS build 19044.1889
    Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack

I just bought this machine in June of this year and its all I could afford. I'm so used to in my younger days build my own machine's but at my age today that is simply not possible.Spec's on a prebuilt machine.
    Brand Armoury
    Computer Type Gaming
    Model A-047
    Part Number RTARU00047
Processor Model AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
    Number of Cores 6
    Number of Threads 12
    Clock Speed 3.7 GHz
    Processor Cooling Air cooler
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
    Graphics Memory 8GB
Standard Memory 16GB (2x8GB) RGB RAM
Memory Slot Total 4 (2 available)
    SSD 1TB M.2 NVMe
    WiFi YES
    Operating System Windows 11 Home
Power Supply 700W 80 PLUS Bronze

Now my son who is in the media bizz has a volume copy of Windows 10 Pro so he took off Win 11 because I told him that everything I've read about "forget about it". So my machine doesn't have much mileage and Win 10 is so new too me since I've been using Win 7 pro for over 10 years till now. Honestly I hate 10 mainly because all ones data is being transferred up to MicroShaft and Mr.Bill Gates couldn't give a damn about his costumers its all about the give me your data...
btw: MajorGeeks has many fixes for Win 10 even for a missing icon for usb safely remove..
    cheers mate ;)

    • Thanks for the information, the machine seems to be good, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't need maintenance and that there can't be errors or problems. So they can always appear there and usually appear after a restart. So it doesn't matter if your system is 1 day, 1 month or 1 year old.
    • As for Windows 10 "transferring all data to Microsoft" as you claim, that is not true. It is Your choice where to save and store.
    • As for Majogeeks, stay away from it as much as you can, it's terrible what they recommend. It's complitely malicious site.
    • Finally, if this icon doesn't appear, but you don't have any other problems, there's no need to redo or install anything right away. Just open Windows Explorer and there is also an "Eject" option on the left side, right click on the selected object and click "Eject" and everything is OK.
P.S. But even if you don't, generally nothing will happen. (clicking this link or icon will only power down (turns power off) the USB device and let you know that there are no currently running processes). So, if you are sure that removing the device will not interrupt any running processes, nothing will happen to your USB device and you can always remove it without clicking any icons. These icones are useful for You, but not for system.
