This frequently comes up on `optional' list during utorrent install.
In fact, something weird is happening in utorrent installs in recent days for some people.
If you do not agree to install the `optional' stuff, utorrent installation may crash and it may become a portable app. I tried this twice and then figured out that the best way was to disconnect the net during utorrent install. Hardly takes 15-20 secs.

Except it is an trusted e-mail client or messenger for instance, but you're right.

That's why people should READ AND THINK ABOUT which rights are demanded when installed and not just accept them. 'Free' apps usually should be in focus. Why for instance should a live wallpaper have the right to have Internet access and to read contacts?
Or whatsapp the right to read GPS location data and to make own calls, and can send SMS??? (for instance).

There is an exposed module, called app settings which allows to configure / deny the rights of each installed app, but that is a lot of work and might cause the app refusing to start. Better read them before confirming their installation and think about if the rights make any sense except to spy.
