Modded Dell BIOS Install With Dell Win7 Ultimate Disk - Certificate & SLP Key ?

    Hi,

    If I have modded the BIOS in my Latitude D630 to contain the relevant SLIC v2.1 and I am installing windows using an original Dell Windows 7 Ultimate disk, do I still need to configure a certificate and OEM SLP key?

    Or, will the original Dell Windows install disk recognise the SLIC v1.2 in the modded BIOS and automatically assign a certificate and key as part of the install?

    if the install disk is dell i think it automatically installs the key and certificate.

    Its a original dell disk it should install cert+key ofcourse.

    I can confirm that using the modded BIOS and a Dell install disk the installation proceeds OK and there is no need to enter a certificate or product key, it is all done automatically.

    The modded BIOS was for the Latitude D630 version A17 and it was a "right click, run as administrator" flash of the BIOS from within Windows and not a DOS flash.
