    Ok.... strange question.

I am thinking of buying a macbook pro 15" as my next notebook. Obviously, as a Vista notebook, will probably leave osx in a tiny partition for my GF to use.

Now ... i know they use EFI with a BIOS compatibility layer for installing VISTA. Is this moddable to use the SLIC hack ? can anyone point me in the right direction of where to even start to read?

I will buy it anyway and install either business or enterprise with the online licensing server. But will rather like to have ultimate up and running (Media Center!) and avoid the refreshing of the license every couple of months.

    Thanks !

I've never heard of anyone modifying the EFI or any of its components, such as the BIOS emulation. You would probably have more luck writing some sort of loader that is a 32-bit EFI application to run before Windows is launched, to be used in conjunction with rEFIt or another EFI bootloader.
