I would like to Slic Mod my Bios. My motherboard is an Asus P8Z77-V Premium currently using 1805 Bios. I have the Phoenix Tool 2.14 but I have a question which I would like help with. I have both 1805 Bios.CAP and a Bios Backup Bios.ROM file. The question is, which is best to use with the Phoenix Tool? Would using the Bios.ROM backup provide any benefit? Is the Dynamic method the best to use, it's what the Phoenix tool seems to choose? Is using the Asus Flashback a mistake or is it worth considering? It would save a boot into Dos mode.
Thank you. So does that mean using the original Asus CAP file as the source file rather than using the Bios backup which I made using flashrom.exe? Is there any difference between them? I did read somewhere that said to use a Bios backup as the source file for some reason and it would be nice to know the reason for that. Any idea why? The Bios backup does mean not using flashback as a Cap file doesn't get produced and Asus flashback doesn't like using Rom files produced by Phoenix.
Is it worth me uploading the Sliced Bios for anyone who doesn't want a permanent Mod? The P8Z77-V Premium seems largely unrepresented when it comes to Bios Mods. It's not the most popular motherboard but a few might want a Modded Bios. If you let me know, I will upload it to my mediafire account, there are files on there that don't get downloaded and are still live so the Bios file should not expire.
