Good evening to all ! I recently changed my startbutton for a flag-shaped one, and made the taskmanager and progress bars blue instead of green, and all looks very nice. Now i'm trying to change the folder icons for a blue folder icon pack, but something's not right. As the only way i know of to change ALL folder icons is to modify imageres.dll with Restorator2007, i did that. But it seems that in miniature-view, some folders remain that stinking yellow I double checked all folder icons in imageres.dll to make sure none have evaded my attention... Does anyone know what causes this, know the solution, or maybe knows of a better way to modify these folder icons and other icons ? Do i also have to modify shell.dll and maybe other files ? Many thanx in advance for the one who can give me a clean solution
Use Icon Packager. That will change all icons, provided the pack you choose contains them all. Its very easy to use too, i have it for years.
yes it's win7 for couple months now, and tired of the standard look of win, so started to change couple things. all goes well, except haven't found an app for icon modification yet fully compatible with win7... so need some help... appreciate the responses EDIT : been using restorator2007 to change the icons in imageres.dll and shell32.dll, and it works, but somehow some folder icons remain standard. I read somewhere that there are other dll files that contain some icons in win7 ?
Just right click on the icon your are trying to find the DLL for, and hit properties and choose the change icon button, and it should open up with the path to the correct DLL. Note the dll file name but do not change the icon, hit cancel, then you know the path to that particular icon
