so i've used resource hacker to manually edit my logon screen bitmaps.

problem is that when I try to replace it Windows File Protection just overwrites it with the original.

so i replaced it in safe mode, but then it just reverts to the classic logon.

i then tried modifying the registry key for UIhost to my logonui.exe file and that just reverted it back to classic logon as well.

how can i just use my created logonui.exe file that only has replaced bmps only with everything else the same as the default? i do not want to use third party apps either because they make it look like crap because all they do is replace the background. i've changed the background, borders, etc and want them all used, not just the background with all the other regular default bmps.

can someone please help me with this? i've searched a bunch and not come up with anything useful...
