as bios are flashed for adding the slic. 1)We seem to offer a specific version of the BIOS does this mean we have to addapt the SLIC for every version ??? 2)as Dell or any other supplier has a SLIC in place this is clealy not at the cost of not allowing bios updates ..... so SLIC and the real bios are separate ... slic not updated by a version update ???? right .... I think Slic patches are great .... but I'm just wondering about the strategy ..... theory 1) would be a pitty .... theory 2) would allow for example GA-945GM-f5-slic update to addapt the slic and the standard update GA-945GM-f6 standard ... to update to a more recent BIOS keeping the SLIC !!! PLease advise
Dell and other OEM updates contain SLIC info if their products came with Vista. Every bios update contains the information, they are not seperate from the bios. I think the last part of your post is confused, I do not understand the point.. If you want to update to a newer bios, have the newer version updated with slic info. Some pubkey methods will keep the slic in bios after update, but this is not the issue you are talking about, and beyond the scope of this post.
