Monitor not displaying correct resolution after Windows 8.1 install

    Hi


    Monitor not displaying correct resolution after Windows 8.1 install, I tried to update display drivers in device manager i get only microsoft basic display adapter but there is now way in other laptop there was no such problem of same make.

    laptop model : Toshiba C850-i2011

    Please help with the solution and get rid of this problem

    Not helping I installed windows 8.1 OS to other laptop but it has no problems with the display driver it is showing generic Pnp Driver other system is showing Microsoft basic driver. :(
    I refreshed windows 8.1 again but no use :(

    You have to run the Windows update, after that, it will correct the right display for your laptop.

    Update driver.Use any trusted drivers updater. I hope It helps.

    My recommendation is to go to the Toshiba website and download all of the drivers they have for your model and Windows 8.1. You especially should get the chipset installation utility so the OS will communicate with the hardware properly. Also the video driver for your laptop should be installed.

    Allow updates to install. I have seen the same issue on several laptops I configured. You will get the update of the display driver quite soon, in a day or two.

    Well thanks for the suggestions I have installed Windows 8.1 for 2 systems but before giving updates or installing display drivers i use to get display resolution automatically,when installing to my laptop i am facing this problem and all the 3 laptops are of same model ( Toshiba C850 -i2011)
    but i have tried lot of thing not working even the amd driver is giving the different resolution :(

    Now the Problem after installation is SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED error can anybody help me on this
