I have an ASUS P8Z77 V-PRO Mobo and it runs great. I have a Quad-Core Intel I7 (I3770K) and it runs at 3.9 GHZ (According to the BIOS) And I'm not OC ing the MoBo.
One small problem that I had with the initial build was the MoBo wouldn't sense the DRAM speed with 4 DIMMS in place.
To solve it, I started the MoBo up with 1 DIMM. It sensed the speed and worked fine. Then, I installed the other 3 DIMMS. :)

Make sure you get a SSD for the primary hard drive. More sturdy, -much- quieter, and really fast.

Best of luck with your build.

    Don't forget about the cooler.
I would recommend summet like the Corsair H80i or similar. Don't know what case you have though.
