I cannot get to the boot options. (Keyboard works perfectly on other computers)

When I start up Win7 the menu to get to the Boot Option Menu is visible for a few tenths of a second, restart with Shift-key pressed solves this problem.
But then, no matter how often, how long the F2 or F11 key is pressed, the computers always simply boots into Win 7.

Is the problem the hardware, an ASRock 85M? The Bios? Is there another way to access?
(I also find no software to test the motherboard's functioning on the net)

    Everything else works perfctly fine...

    Thanks

If you have the ASRock B85M motherboard, RTFM

You mean to check if your current installation is GPT (UEFI) or MBR (legacy)?
You can view this information with diskpart

Open an elevated command prompt and type

    Code:
    diskpart
    list disk
Locate your windows systemdrive by its size
The row at the very right (GPT) should have an asterisk, if not it's legacy (MBR)

.....has it occurred to you that I did that? And that the manual does NOT answer the question how to get into the BIOS whenthe F keys fail to work.

Or... as Enthousiast has written before: If you don't have an answer, don't answer....

I have experienced problems with PS/2 keyboards not being recognized by the BIOS. Notably from PS/2 keyboards plugged into PS/2 to USB adapters.

If you have a USB keyboard, you might try booting with that and see if the BIOS recognizes it.
