    Hi,

I bought a new laptop with a 256gb NVMe SSD (Acer Nitro).

I wanted to move the cache folders of Firefox and Chrome to the HDD to reduce excessive read-write cycles. My internet usage is moderate, but Youtube may generate large cache.

But all the links that I am getting are for previous versions of the browsers. They are quite old. Is it not required, now a days, for newer SSDs?

Installing the browsers in the HDD may be a solution, but that will compromise the startup time of the browsers.

Will appreciate you inputs in this matter.

for newer ssd it is indeed not really required
they already surpass the hdd lifespan
i have already had ssd's for over 5 years in use
