I think you need to re-register the DLL which allows Windows to read the ID3 tag. Since that is a default Windows DLL, I think it will be hard to find which one it is. You can try running "sfc" (System File Check) from an admin command line, though I'm not sure how much help it will be. I ran into a similar problem with getting CBR/CBZ (ComicBook RAR/ZIP) to show properly. There is a DLL that pulls the first image from the RAR/Zip archive to use as an icon.
