Hello I googled settings for Outlook with AOL mail, and I have not been able to find the correct settings for Outlook 2016. This is what I have tried AOL Mail EMail: xxxxxx@aol.com IMAP imap.aol.com SSL 993 smtp.aol.com TSL 587 Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) Outgoing Server My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication Use same seyyings as my incoming mail server I successfully configured my Verizon email, which AOL took over. I need assistance with configuring my AOL mail with Outlook 2016. I would appreciate any and all assistance with this issue. I've been trying for four hours and I'm frustrated. Thank You.
Did you notice when you write in Advanced tab the port number THEN select the type of encrypted connection (TLS or SSL), the port numbers revert to their original/default value? It's a pita...
Yes, I did noticed the port numbers reverted to the original numbers, but I changed the back. Then I tried to connect, with no luck. Then I checked the port numbers again, and they stayed to the port numbers I set them at. I appreciate your suggestion. Thank You.
Try These POP 3 Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.aol.com 995 SSL SMTP Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.aol.com 465 SSL IMAP Incoming mail server (IMAP): imap.aol.com 993-SSL
Try this cause it worked when setting up an account. An Office365 account for my son's school so don't blame me if that does not work out. 1. Go to "Auto account setup" window 2. Next, instead of choosing "Manual setup or additional server types", click on "E-mail Account" 3. Fill out all the fields accordingly. 4. See what happens, crossed fingers.
Thank you for your suggestion. Can't connect. I tried POP3 then no encryption all didn't work. Thank You.
Yes, Thank you. After spending four more hours and I finally received an email from the tech support at AOL, you need TWO STEP VERIFICATION, which is NOT mentioned anywhere in the links I found under Google. I'm going to try to help others who use MS Outlook and can't connect.
