My laptop has a Intel i3 processor which is a dual core running @ 2.4 ghz. MSCONFIG shows I have only one processor. In MSCONFIG I can change the number from 1 to 4 processors. I believe it should be set to 2 processors. I read where I will get better performance if the number of cores are correctly set. Will I screw up my Windows 10 if I change the number of processors? Will Windows think I changed something I should not?

Yes, you only have ONE processor. MSCONFIG is correct...

Processor is not the same as Core. By Processor, usually the physical CPU is referred to, and most people have only one.
