Nice work getting the board going. Have you tested out your DIMMs? I tried to resurrect a VIA EPIA Eden board a month ago and noticed that a lot of PC133 DIMMS gave lots of errors and caused instability. They were stored in anti-static bags for years. RAM apparently is only good for so long. Also, why did you remove the Parallel/VGA/Serial ports?
Nice to know your old mobo is stable. 512mb sticks would be great. I'm going to look for two for my EPIA board. Yup the RAM just goes bad. I tried at some 128MB sticks and they work fine, as do two 256MB sticks. But the 256MB sticks are going on an ASUS P2B-DS board. Gonna make a retro gaming rig. Got and AWE32, Lan, AGP video card and everything setup I noticed something strange about my EPIA board, sometimes on cold boots it takes many seconds (over 30) for the BIOS to start and VGA to show up. I was impatient at first, and thought it wasn't booting. But I let it sit a while and it started to boot. All of the caps look good except one 1000uF cap. The bulge is minimal. Could that be the cause of the problem?
