Hey all, I was flashing the bios on my msi board (AMI bios), and I don't know what possessed me to click program boot block, but I thought sure, why not. Well the flash said it ran sucessfully, but the board will not not boot. I have tried AMIBOOT.ROM on floppy (it don't even try to access the floppy), even with holding CTRL-HOME AMIBOOT.ROM on flash drive, closest to NIC port, with and without holding CTRL-HOME Wondering if anyone had any final words of wisdom before I chunk this board in the trash? manual for board at www msi com/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=manual&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1460 bios for board at: www msi com/index.php?func=downloadfile&dno=13217&type=bios Sorry, I can't post the links, so you have to add the . Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
K9N2GM-FIH or K9N2GM-FD look: BIOS-Chip (Factory-BIOS-Version) Sticker on the board edge (Example: A7508NMS300)
That's what's funky, it's not a FD, or FIH.. here's the pic of the label. The sticker you are talking about (I assume on the bios chip) is green, and says A7508 MSI120
ok, if you life in the "EU" look here ... if not... seek a "BIOS Flash Service" on where you live BIOS Flash Service (EU) €8,90 for Flash BIOS-Chip / Example: h**p://biosflash.de/e/index.htm or send to your: EU msi bios service Example: (EU Link) h**p://msi-shop.de/service/bios-update.html
Anyone know of a bios service in the US ? It's a soldered bios, so I'd prefer to just send it in, it's a multi-layer board, and those pins don't go all the way through.
