nice work!! stuff like this can come in pretty handy... i think i had a media center edition disk that was similar in nature but lost it in the move great post
Great job but how does it detect which OEM brand the computer is if it is mixed by different parts(non-oem computer). Is it related to BIOS?
It scans BIOS Memory for a specific string within a customizable range and inserts bios files and correct key.
oemscan.exe checks bios i,e, DMI area for brand names. then installs bos files and setkey adds correct key for that brand.
Im working on 1.1 version with all OEMBios files found ( 88 in "The Windows XP OEMBIOS Archive" threat ) Also the new disk size will be bigger, at least 2GB.
Hi ColdAsIce, Awesome work on the first disc. I have already made a disc with 100 OEM's. @chinobino Why are you listing OEM SLP 1.0 strings and OEM SLP 2.X OEMID & OEMTABLEID's in oemscan.ini??? If OEM SLP 2.X OEMID & OEMTABLEID is found this is not going to activate XP you know
Thanks man! Appreciated even if i dont use XP i know others doing it. Is an update coming ? The hotfile links are pretty damn slow im afraid..
Im working on next version with all oem files i found ( i need some time to test it before release ). Hotfile is slow 128kb/s ( will try to find something else in the future ) still better then my 56kb/s upload.
Yeah, I was looking at newer PC's that don't have any SLP entry (only SLIC 2.0/2.1) and trying to come up with a solution for having OEM scan install the correct vendor cat files so that the SLP can be added afterwards using dmicfg or similar...
The problem with DMI editors is that you cannot just add any slp string some need to go into certain memory adresses that is why dmi boot cd adds HP other that are possible are EMACHINES, GIGABYTE, and LENOVO.
Ouch.. 56k upload? . A skydrive or rapidshare whould be better if you could make the filesize just smaller..
They should add the slp before the install if they are to benefit from the multioem disc. there are other solutions for adding the slp afterward.
