The N Edition is the same thing only without WMP 12 dude. I have heard that they are also harder to activate unless you have a real key. I believe the N edition comes with IE 8 still though.
I have downloaded the MSDN Copys and IE is missing, as well as MediaPlayer and MCE. This is a simple fix with 2 downloads from MS website prior to installing just add them to the setupcomplete.cmd to have them install.
What I heard about N releases is that they don't includes WMP and IE. Are free from this two applications...
nice post, that is a little odd that yours did not come with IE because the MS UK Store says that it is only lacking WMP. Oh well, good catch though.
for info, for english versions, the N iso 64bit size is 2.70GB (2*908*555*264 bytes) the normal one is 3GB (3*224*686*592 bytes) for the 32 bit, the N iso is 2.07GB (2*228*641*792 bytes) and the normal one is 2.32GB. (2*501*894*144 bytes)
maybe there are multiple editions of N or something like that. Or MS had a typo on there store page lol.
maybe that as well. Sorry guys I have never tested the N edition so I really have no idea what the difference is other then using online sources.
Me too lol. If you want to truely find out then install the N edition on like VMWARE or something and see exactly what is changed. lol
There are two versions of Windows 7 N. The first one was without IE and without WMP but got scrapped together with the Windows 7 E version. It has *clientn* in the filename. 7600.16385.090713-1255_x86fre_clientn_en-us_Retail_UltimateN-GRMCNULFRER_EN_DVD.iso MD5: 8c96418b08f7429b0e7520b0a64faa9c SHA1: c838b904177c5abfc594b9c5fb3f683dae8a7fd1 CRC32: 7e852e61 The new version is with IE and without WMP. It has *clientn-1* in the filename. 7600.16385.090713-1255_x86fre_clientn-1_en-us_Retail_UltimateN-GRMCNULFRER_EN_DVD.iso MD5: 262D9EFC87012F7E9BA257C4938A8DBD SHA1: 5DF8CDCA9A3289D53468836ABA204FE2937E86AB CRC32: EE19F2DA
Ahh, okay, so I thought, two versions. A version without IE8 and WMP12. And another just not WMP. Thanks for the clarification. Soon I shall see for myself, thanks.
