Hi guys, Just installed Windows 7 and it runs beautifullly. I also signed up for Astraweb's usenet service. I use merlins-portal.com to search on NZBs but I need a good Windows 7 compiant NZB client for downloading RAR files. Anything close to the clean, simplicity that uTorrent offers for torrents that can be used on NZBs? Perferably something that free and easy to use. Thanks, HMR.
Just use SABnzbd. When configured correctly you just need to drop a nzb file in a folder and SABnzbd does the PAR / RAR / Delete process. And the best of it it's free!
Newsleecher. It will inspect your NZB files and only download the files it needs, then unpause PAR2 files as necessary and download those saving you time, space and bandwidth. It also inspects the RAR files for corruption repairs them then extracts them. All you do is add the NZB and Newsleecher does the rest. Repair and Extract is what makes NL the best program out there.
Thanks for the replies guys... sounds like Newsleecher is the favourite. Anyone know how to get by the 14 days activiation? I installed the latest Newsleecher v4.0 beta 7 cant find a way around that trail.
I bought it, it is worth the money. I think a yearly license plus super search was like $30, with the amount of downloading of "trial" software I do off NGs I figured it was worth it. There are cracks and loaders out there but they are unreliable at best.
you will have to use the newsleecher 3.9 i posted, cos its got a cr**ked.exe and a keygen some antivirus flag the keygen as infected but it was from a reputable source, and virustotal gives a 43% and i cracked the exe myself, it removes the hosts file check
Hey thank so much guys! I will check it out now. BTW.. why do these guys make a newsreader so hard to crack? Its not Windows or Office or anything that major. If only it was designed by uTorrent...
thanks racky29!! i had been lookin into the whole newsgroup thing recently then i came across this thread... big thanks for the info and link
