Hi! I have a Dell Studio 1647 laptop with core i5 430m. I bought core i7 820QM and 720QM Cpus and both failed to work with this system. My board is PM55 (CPU-Z shows it) just like 1645 but I believe the BIOS is not recognizing the CPU's. Does anybody know a modified where my 1647 will work with core i7 CPUS. Trust me I tried everything and the system board simple does not boot once I put one of these CPUs. The decrease volume media key keeps flashing...
