Here's what to do? OK, I did mine this way for HP or compact oem xp cd. Download dmicfg.exe from tools here.(use search) run under pure dos(boot floopy) Change "System Manufacturer Name" under board manufactor. (You can also change serial number will work ethier way!) to 'Compaq' Load windows and check Validation. Hope this helps!
