HI guys, really new here. I have no experience with Bios flashing and stuff. I Oc in the bios and I have updated a older motherboards bios. Thats it. These are my system specs: Mainboard :DFI Inc. LP DK 790FX [LP DK 790FX-M2RS] Chipset :AMD RD790 Processor :AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ @ 3100 MHz Physical Memory :2048 MB Video Card :ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series Hard Disk :Maxtor (288 GB) Hard Disk :ST3250310AS (250 GB) DVD-Rom Drive :PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-110D ATA Device DVD-Rom Drive :URGV OHYJWDA SCSI CdRom Device Monitor Type :Samsung SyncMaster - 19 inches Network Card :Marvell Semiconductor (Was: Galileo Technology Ltd) Yukon 88E8053 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (Copper) Network Card :Broadcom Corp BCM4309 802.11a/b/g Operating System :Windows Vista Black Edition 2009 v2 x64 Professional 6.00.6001 Service Pack 1 DirectX :Version 10.00 Windows Performance Index :5.3 I have tryed bootloaders. (vista 2.0, 2.1, 2.2) it freezes at ACPI vista bootloader.... or on the newer ones just after it finishes saying boot from cd. It just wont boot. SO ive gone to recovery disc, console, bootrec /fixmgr and bootrec /fixboot that worked so it booted again. cleaned the cracks with VOATK and back to the start again. I have also tried bios emulation stuff no idea what that stuff does but those cracks Ok ive tried: Ms Windows Vista Developer Activation -- same result as boot loaders Sp1_Clean_Oem_Loader_3.0.0.1 Vista.Loader.x86-64.Oem.activator.patch.readnfo-shahjinn Vistaloader 2.0 vistaloader 2.1.2 Vista bootmgr v1.0.3.exe Rockers Team_Activator.exe Vst.X-Free.AO_2.1.2.1.2.exe lol that was a mouthful. I am running windows vista ultimate x64 Black edition v2 from Rockers team. Its on the 30 day grace period currently. I am open to any solutions just none that will harm my hardware. Bios patching/modding can screw my motherboard? its brand new thanks guys pat
So is there anyway that doesn't rely on modding the bios? How come vista loader works on some computers!? I cant afford to buy a copy of vista, anyway to just renew the 30 days continuously or something?
Just the way it is allocated in the memory. Some bootloaders work and some dont. Some work for a while then fail when additional hardware is added. You cant rearm indefinitely. You will reinstall constantly. You will have to bite the bullet and try a mod (even a tested one) or pay the exorbitant price for Vista..I would stay with XP at this point unless you need vista.. You want to play, you may have to pay..There are no guarantees, but we can enhance your chance of success in the modding exponentially here..
So is there a way of modding then un modding? or once its done is it done ? what happened to emulated bios' ?
thanks. I have tryed to install wow but it has gone straight over my head. If some one could direct me to a simple installation it would be perfect. I have tryed for almost 4 days straight to work it out not sure if I need to dl grub or what. Thanks
