    The modded file definitely has the 374 byte Acer SLIC in it. Whether the BIOS is healthy and safe for flashing, I can't tell you.

    The problem is the original module as shown above is a cut off from the module I originally inserted which I don't know why.
    I mean that the original SLIC module is not a fully form binary when I sub it there are extra parts.
    It is not even half the length of the module I substituted!
    Can someone enlighten me why the difference?

    Its called the pubKey..its supposed to be like that. The Marker is elsewhere...

    I wouldn't flash it..:eek:

    Thanks, how do you find the marker?
    I ran a search through all the modules but could find a marker.:confused:
    I always thought the entire table was in one single module.

    I have Acer TM 5600 and have original BIOS without SLIC, moded BIOS with add SLIC 2.0 (ACER) and try make BIOS with 2.1 SLIC (ACER).
    In firs step I try unpack BIOS with 2.0 PBE 2.2.0.1 and subsequently compile this BIOS without any change. I expect bit identical ROM, but PBE complile ROM, which is very different from original?!?!.

    My intention
    -decomplile BIOS with PBE,
    - delete ACPI05.ROM withSLIC 2.0 ACER
    - insert new ACPI05.ROM withSLIC 2.1 ACER
    - compile

    but now I have fear of bricked notebook.

    It was two files, I cannot post anything right now, because I installed Win7 and lost my PBE, the link for download is under maintenance, can you send me (PBE) please?

    I already made the mod but the original pub key seems malformed you should take a look at it.

    This part was missing from MOD_4B1.ROM
    Else everything is ok.
    Vista activate fine without the part above.
    I am not sure if I do the same leaving out the above few hex on the Win 7 Tables it will work as well.

    I had the same problem, I was able to find the entire part (rsa) except for "slic" part above, it was spread on 2 files. Without that part, I cannot (for example) mod to Dell, and the manual method works better on Lenovo, not Acer. It would be great if a similar way (and simpler) where possible for us with Acer (Phoenix BIOS).

    Hi can I ask have you tried just replacing hex for hex using the new SLIC binaries while ignoring the above lines?
    Does it work?
    Reason I don't want add a new SLIC is because I prefer a "clean" and straight forward mod without adding new modules and leaving unused SLIC.
