History: A friend's HP Pavilion Entertainment PC (laptop dv2315nr) with Vista Ultimate 64bit, would start chkdsk during the boot process but some where during the 10 second count down would get canceled and then proceed to boot as normal. Suspecting viruses, malware, spyware, etc...I removed the hard drive an scanned it on another computer with an updated AV, backup up the data, formatted the disk and Installed windows 7 ultimate 64 just for her to try out. A week later, the chkdsk issue came back.... If i boot from a WinPE cd, chkdsk runs just fine. This can become a problem for my friend in the even she does have to run chkdsk to fix something. Any possible solutions?
