Hi guys, i managed to do a clean install of windows 7 ultimate on my old hp pavillion zt3000, I am quite surprised at how smooth it is running on this old piece of machine, feels even better than XP. except i can't use aero cause of my mobility radeon 9200. i don't mind though. However, I've been having trouble getting it activated. I downloaded and installed the windows 7 ultimate x86 BIE version, i think there's no slic on my system whatsoever, i tried all the loaders, the older ones doesn't work at all, makes no difference to the system, the newer loader by Daz or Orbit gave me BOD on startup(where you just see "starting windows", then a flash of blue screen and then it restarts, samething repeats over if i keep restarting it, tried restoring using windows 7 dvd, did not work), i did another clean reinstall of windows 7, created a backup on my external disk, tried again, same thing. so i had to restore the whole thing using my backup, was able to restore. I then tried the bootmgr patch. followed the instruction about adding label for reserve partition and edited the install.bat file to match. ran install.bat. no luck. it says can not find the target path or something. i also tried searching about modding my bio, but found out my specific bio cant be modded? so is there any other way to activate it? or is there another release of windows 7 i should download? it seems now i will only be using windows 7 for the next 28 days, and maybe go back to XP after that. any help would be much appreciated, thank you
