I just reformatted my netbook after a virus infection with a clean install of Windows 7 starter edition. I used a universal Windows 7 USB I made a while ago that has every edition, x64 and x86 on it. I used the Advanced Tokens Manager here to backup the activation before reformatting. After reformatting when I tried to restore the activation with the tokens manager I got an error The product can't be activated by the backup. Can anyone help me get this activated? I really don't want to have to use the factory reset and uninstall OEM software for hours. Here's the log for the advanced tokens manager: Code: Starting the Activation Restore on Microsoft Windows 7 Starter at 10:44:57 of 2013/02/12 with Advanced Tokens Manager v3.5 RC 4 by Josh Cell Software's [ 10:44:57 ] Disabling the Network connections [ 10:45:01 ] Success [ 10:45:01 ] Preparing the activation system for the activation restore [ 10:45:01 ] Stopping Software Protection Platform Service [ 10:45:04 ] Restoring the Tokens.dat [ 10:45:04 ] Success [ 10:45:04 ] Starting the Software Protection Platform Service [ 10:45:07 ] Writing the Product Key [ 10:45:07 ] Installing the product key number: 1 [ 10:47:04 ] Success [ 10:47:04 ] Stopping Software Protection Platform Service [ 10:47:10 ] Restoring the Activation Files [ 10:47:10 ] Restoring the Tokens.dat [ 10:47:10 ] Success [ 10:47:10 ] Starting the Software Protection Platform Service [ 10:47:13 ] Rebuilding the Activation System [ 10:47:13 ] Checking the restored activation files integrity [ 10:47:15 ] Activation files integrity match [ 10:47:16 ] Backup has been restored with success [ 10:47:16 ] Checking if license reinstall is needed for this activation [ 10:47:16 ] Is needed. After further research I've determined I have a Windows Starter OEM SLP key. And my BIOS has SLIC 2.1 I believe I need a certificate now. Where can I get this?
I used Daz's loader for several times and different machines with different configurations and I never had problems with.
ASUS. It's an EeePC if it's different. Out of curiosity, is there some list of downloads somewhere for the certificates?
loader works amazingly on eeepc btw, just in case you would rather do a soft instead of hardware change.
