it has a share on PD-Server to the network, it has its own IP address and a web service as well. I would suggest using the first one since if the PD-Server gets shut off, you will not have access to the printer unless you go back and install it to its IP.
What do you mean? The server is on 24/7. If i choose the first one it will not go through the server? Im assuming it will install the driver locally on my pc rather. thanks for the quick reply
either way it needs to install drivers on your pc. But, if you choose the IP address you should be printing directly to the printer and not through the server. I am assuming the printer is either wifi or wire connected to the network giving it its own IP.
correct the printer is connected to a switch. any other reason why you suggest printing directly to the printer? So theres no use for a printer server?
I see no need to run a print server when the printer is more than capable of handling the same task from within itself. Why add another task for a server when the printer is more than capable? hehe
