Just a heads up that if you're using Win10TP, you can check for a new build and download it. To download the build you press the start button (winkey) and then search for "Windows Update Settings" (modern UI app) You then click the Preview Builds tab. I will not maintain this OP, I just thought that people deserved a heads up.
hopefully all have the chance to load the file / get notified since some measures were done to cut telemetry or remove watermark etc. Curious upon complaints
Curiously, there are a lot of options when you install the original build that people seem to ignore. Like error reporting and smart screen. If you're against privacy issues and you don't disable those, that'd be exactly your own fault.
Quick question: Do we need to be signed into a Microsoft Account? As in, one that is registered for the Insider Program?
Don't know. I haven't checked the msdn-only or eval-enterprise/server builds. I'd guess that they'd try to roll out the updates evenly, but I honestly don't know.
I was, but I don't know if you have to. I do know that you have to un-do any reg mods that people were using to check for private builds. There's more info on that in s1ave77's sticky thread.
I saw some mention that it shows up on Windows Update as well under Optional. But not running TP at the moment to confirm.
9860.0.141008-2044.fbl_release_CLIENTPRO_RET_x64fre_en-us.esd It downloads a windowssetupbox.exe program as well and stores these things in the softwaredistribution\download subfolder, under a gibberish folder name. It doesn't store the info in windowsupdate.log like the previous store update did. I'd guess that it's because it uses the akamai instead of BITS. (speculation) Someone could probably find some links... I don't know. I haven't tested this against the cryptoid and esddecrypter.exe yet that qad posted the other day.
i just dont get the point 7 days and they going and releasing all new ESDs 9860.0.14 10 08 should be around 2.5GB
