I'm building a new computer and would like to use windows 10, however I am unsure of which one to use? I haven't installed an OS in many years (linux/windows) and have forgotten how to manage my way around. I have USB thumb drives, but I don't know which version of windows 10 to use. A link would be helpful Could some one help? thanks.
Use the one you have a valid license for, if you don't then install enterprise or education, to have full control.
Thanks Enthousiast. It sounds like enterprise is the one for me. Edit: Is there a sticky? or a link that you could direct me to find enterprise?
That's not normal Enterprise, that's Enterprise 2019 LTSC, now almost 3 years old (first released approx. Sept. 2018) and doesn't include the latest developments.
And why do you need Enterprise, if I may ask? It's more business oriented and a bit more bloated than consumer
Double posting. What do I do with it now? put it on a USB stick? boot to BIOS and install from there? or is there something more that I have to do?
What more "bloat" will Enterprise have? The only business or consumer ISO SKU which has less UWP apps preinstalled is Education. You managed to self build a pc and don't know how to install Windows?
I consider bloat any extra (paid) feature that I won't use. Enterprise has App-v, branchcache, applocker and other stuff that 99% consumers don't need / don't use. PRO has a lot of domain / business related stuff that might not be useful to most people. Sure there is gpedit, bitlocker and hyper-v but there are alternatives Home is the cheapest option and that's what I buy for my machines. But I wanted to known his explanation on Enterprise. I've had customers coming to me saying that "I bought windows 7 ultimate, (retail box) because it's the fastest OS for gaming"... or you could spend the extra 200€ in more RAM or better gpu. That's it
